I saw something today. Something I never thought I'd see. It scared me and thrilled me. Something I hadn't seen in years. Something I thought I would never see again after Sara left. To think that it could actually exist was a shock. I suppose I had considered it briefly, late one night by the fire when I was in that blissful stupor of drunkenness.

Would she ever feel that way? Was it ever a possible?

Thoughts like that were always quickly dismissed, and I would laugh at myself and continue to down the cool liquid that made my mind numb and made those feeling go away. But now, everything was different. I swear I saw it today. She betrayed her resolve for just a moment and I saw it, right there in her eyes. I saw the one thing that I had scarcely dared to think about.

Was it love?

I don't know. I don't know if I'll ever know that. But it was something. She felt something for me. For me. God that seems so amazing.

Why would she ever feel that way or care about me?
